What’s Included
Kick-Off - May 11th 6:30
Introduction: Meet and greet, discuss expectations for the book club and the book
Meeting 1:
Discussion: Chapters 1-3
Activity: Brainstorm and share personal examples of good and bad habits, and identify the cues, cravings, rewards, and beliefs associated with them.
Meeting 2:
Discussion: Chapters 4-6
Activity: Share and discuss strategies for habit stacking and implementation intentions. Each member can identify a specific habit they want to start or stop, and share their plan with the group.
Meeting 3:
Discussion: Chapters 7-9
Activity: Identify and discuss the role of the environment in shaping habits. Each member can share their home and work environment and brainstorm ways to make them more conducive to building good habits and breaking bad ones.
Meeting 4:
Discussion: Chapters 10-12
Activity: Discuss the role of identity and beliefs in forming habits. Each member can share how they identify themselves (e.g. "I'm a procrastinator" vs. "I'm someone who values productivity") and brainstorm ways to shift their identity and beliefs to better support their desired habits.
Meeting 5:
Discussion: Chapters 13-15
Activity: Share and discuss the impact of social influence on habits. Each member can identify their social circle and how it may be impacting their habits, and brainstorm ways to build a supportive community to help them achieve their habit goals.
Meeting 6:
Conclusion: Share and discuss the impact of the book on each member's habits and life. Discuss any plans for continuing to implement the strategies from the book.
